Trindade is a small fishing village between the Rainforest and the ocean. There are five heaven-like beaches, one natural pool and a waterfall, which can be seen within a day or you may stay longer to enjoy everything in no hurry. In the city centre there are shops, inns and restaurants. It belongs to Paraty (27 km away) and borders the state of São Paulo on one edge.
This week I visited Colônia de Sacramento, a frontier port city that invites us to go walk on its streets paying attention to details. Mainly on historical zone with it’s ruins, alleys, colonial houses and great taste from the current dwellers.
Dona Marta Lookout (Mirante Dona Marta) is where I got the best view of Rio de Janeiro, and where you can see all the touristic places.
That is the face of Brazil in the last days. The expression has started in São Paulo and spread to all country charging the government less corruption and the real attention to basic needs of the people. When we hear about the countries that could be world leaders, alongside Brazil and others, comes India. I never quite understood how this country could be on that list. Living in England, I always saw the Indian community as a hard-work people. Those who wake up at four in the morning and just go to sleep at midnight, working tirelessly.
I have already seen lots of kangaroos while visiting wild life parks in Australia. But no one offer the interactive experience as Cavershawn Wild Life Park, near Perth. Those typical animals seems puppis that love our caress. This mom was carrying a big and curious whelp.
This is the vibe in Rio on carnival. Clá and I went there last year and it could not be any different. We had the time of our lives for five days; with the help of a big friend who lives in Ipanema everything is easier.
A sunny Sunday afternoon is an invitation to go for a walk at Coronel Pedro Osório Square, in the centre of Pelotas. The main attraction is Fonte das Nereidas (water fountain), bought by the Hydraulic Company at an auction in Paris and brought to provide water to the population at the time. Installed by the end of the 19th century and restored in June 2003, it has four Nereids (sea goddesses from Greek mythology on horses). Take your chimarrão and dog, meet friends and have fun. Besides the fountain, it is worthwhile paying attention to the centennial trees and buildings around the square, historical houses that are part of the city culture.
It is now time to talk about taste. I share with you my latest gastronomic findings in Buenos Aires.
Living here in the metropolitan area of Miami and Fort Lauderdale, I am already used to pass through cargo vessels, gigantic cruiseships, and an infinity of boats, ships, yachts, and so many different embarkments that nothing attracts much my attention. It was not the case this time boating with friends at Port Everglades area last Saturday. We faced the fantastic yatch M/Y “A”.
