The neighboring town of Búzios (RJ) and its nightlife is bigger, more popular and has more beautiful beaches. Even though the water is freezing cold, I loved Cabo Frio. One edge invades the sea with rocks and mountains like many others in Brazil; the difference is the thin white sand and the clear blue waters. I spent only a day in Cabo Frio. It was cloudy and the sun was a little shy, but even so I was impressed with the natural beauty. The title reflects the fame of having beaches just like the Caribbean, I have already been there and I can confirm that. Forte Beach is the most famous, with urban fringe and a fort. It is known by sailors for having the world’s largest lane to practice the sport. Peró Beach is more quiet and surfers’ number one beach. It is 7 km from the city centre, there are kiosks and the water is warmer. However, I froze just by bathing my feet, there was even a penguin hunting and enjoying the waves! Right next to it, separated by a canal, is Concha Beach – known for the fishing and most beautiful view among the ones I visited. Cabo Frio has 11 beaches altogether.Take Note
How to get there: there is an international airport – 23 km from Búzios, 148 km from Rio de Janeiro. I hired the services of Stylus Travel Agency in Búzios and got the whole package: transport, lunch and boat ride.
