I went trekking in CERRO COCODRILO in POTRERILLOS and ACONCAGUA PARK. Up there you can see some eagles and let your mind wonder, while you admire the view. I also went “radical” rafting in the Mendoza river(almost had my teeth broken with the paddle during a violent wave), but it was amazing to face those waters and the view in The Andes. The river is brown because of the desert and has a lot of rocks that you do not see, you only feel them scratching the bottom of the boat.

Taking ruta 7 heading to Chile the view gets even more beautiful on each curve, and here we passed by Uspallata, ski stations, Puente del Inca and Aconcagua Park. PUENTE DEL INCA is a natural bridge built by the strength of the waters, it used to be a path to a luxurious hotel that was destroyed when glaciers detached and dragged whatever was on their way. Many died and nowadays the bridge can only be admired from afar. When I saw the Aconcagua it was early in the evening and a few sunbeams lighted the white top of the mountain, the mountains around it have amazing colors, no vegetation or snow. There are also some lagoons that reflect the mountains – Laguna Orcones and Espejo. I reached 3 thousand meters high.

TOME NOTA

Where to stay: in Potrerillos I stayed at SER_O HOSTEL, quite rustic with great staf, there is an open space to cook parrilla and a community kitchen. The owners are responsible for the rafting.
