Being in Los Angeles, even if it is for the first time, is like reliving moments you saw in movies, with a different emotion. It is like you have been there before. There were times I felt I was in Chips, The Towering Inferno or Earthquake, Charlie’s Angels, among others.
The winter really came to Brazil this week, that’s why the image shows the coldest day I had in life. It was during a -12 degrees snowstorm in the afternoon in Amsterdam.
In the heart of Bali in Indonesia close to area of Ubud there’s a village called Tegalalang. Around there the hilly shapes of the mountains combine with the developed farming techniques of the Balinese people to create an incredible scenery of rice terraces. In April, from the top of the mountains to the valleys, greenery takes place and the plantations are at its peak. A true experience would be not to just keep admiring it at distance but to walk through the terraces, getting lost and finding the way back, in the maze of little stairs and footbridges. If possible, drinking coconut water that can be bought down there.
Imagine a huge garden designed by a landscaper, around lakes and groves. Add work of art from renowned artists interacting with this view and in harmony with the environment. Now insert constructions, completely integrated with nature, with art galleries, pubs and restaurants full of art from contemporary artists. And last but not least, imagine land or rock trails in the middle of the groves and gardens, connecting the spaces. This is INHOTIM, the coolest museum I have ever been to in Brazil and perhaps the most pleasant in the world.
The most beautiful place in the world to be in springtime is in Netherlands between April and June. The tulips field of Keukenhof stays like this – colorful.
Pictures from backpacking in Peru. May 2006.
Potrerillos is a beautiful destination in both winter or summer. The mountains are always there to compound this different landscape. If you are lucky, you can see a condor

My last adventure was an expedition to Chilean and Argentinean Patagonia, with a group of 18 people guided by eco-friendly walkers. It was an 18-day walk through 130 km in Los Glaciares National Park, Tierra del Fuego National Park and Torres del Paine National Park, in Chile. We reached the cities of El Calafate, El Chaltén and Ushuaia.
Langkawi means “brown-reddish eagle” and that’s the name of the archipelago of 99 items located in the Malaysian West coast close to the Thai border.
