The largest and greenest state in Brazil has always been a dream (there is even a report here, still among the most read posts) and finally an opportunity came up in June. Amazonastur took advantage of Parintins Folklore Festival to organize a press trip with bloggers, and Territórios was on the guest list.
The tour included the last night of the festival in Parintins, two nights in Manaus and another two in jungle lodge. As any press trip, it was busy and not recommended for those traveling on leisure. Parintins deserves that you have free time to walk around town and chat with the local residents; there are lots of one-day tours around Manaus, and it is recommended to stay at least six days in Juma Amazon Lodge only, to enjoy all the attractions.
Talking with friends who have already been there, I got to the conclusion that it is worthwhile a backpacking trip; there are lots of options and probably a lot more to find out. I realized that few of my friends did the same tours, and in every new conversation I discover more options. You should see how many days of vacation you have and fit in the tours you like the most – if you have the time, research what is best to do and decide how many days you need. I will surely go back there; after all, the Amazon forest is now on my list of the most beautiful places in the world, together with Patagonia and the Peruvian forests.
