Eating out at the Falls

The nice thing about traveling to the border is to enjoy a varied and typical cuisine of each country. Even better if it is where Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay meet.

In Puerto Iguazú, Argentina

La Selva is in Iguassu National Park, there is a self-service with a variety of food and sweets, parrilla and free wi-fi. It is a good option for lunchtime, just do not get lazy after eating, enjoy the most of the Falls on the Argentinian side. In the park there are Cafés with dulce de leche, Pomelo, alfajor, empanada and much more.

El Quincho Del Tio Querido is a wonderful parrilla in Puerto Iguassu. I had morcella and bife de chorizo with Patagonia beer and fudge icecream cake for dessert. For those who have not tried this steak, it is a delicious, thick and tender piece of meat. Remember they do not prepare well-done steaks, rare meat means almost alive. In Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil

  BUFALO BRANCO is worth the visit for lunch or dinner, a steakhouse with great meat and self-service in the downtown area. Thumbs up for the service, steak and provolone cheese. 530 Engenheiro Rebouças St.

The restaurant Porto Canoas is practically on top of one of the falls and has a beautiful view, especially if you sit at a table outside. The disadvantage is the high/low temperature or humidity, depending on the season – there is air-conditioning inside. It offers self-service with Brazilian and international specialties; it was “Food from Minas Gerais Day” and I tried only good stuff like fig and banana mayonnaise with pork. It is in Iguassu National Park, there are other food options nearby.

Rafain – a restaurant chain – has two options: for those who like bars and young people, RAFAIN CHOPP. They offer drinks and dishes for one. Located near other pubs and parties, 1350 Jorge Schimmelpfeng Ave. Rafain Show Steakhouse has a folk performance with South and Central America typical dances. There is a six-hour cooked rib that melts in your mouth, several options of meat and a varied self-service, even for vegetarians. 1749 Cataratas Ave. I really enjoyed having dinner on the Italian Night at La Bella Tavola, a theme dinner with good cheese and foreign wines, live music, wonderful pasta and desserts.
