Living here in the metropolitan area of Miami and Fort Lauderdale, I am already used to pass through cargo vessels, gigantic cruiseships, and an infinity of boats, ships, yachts, and so many different embarkments that nothing attracts much my attention. It was not the case this time boating with friends at Port Everglades area last Saturday. We faced the fantastic yatch M/Y “A”.
This boat shocks by its size and its shape. It is a hybrid of submarine and yatch ant it was designed by Philippe Starck for a Russian billionaire. This is one of the largest yachts of the world and it is one of themost recognised by its design and authenticity. The name “A” comes for because of the name of its owners Andrey and Aleksandra. The provocative style of this yatch has caused a lot of polemic during its launching and it is still reffered as the most hated and loved yacht of the world.The Yacht is so big that it has an helipad in its frontal deck, as if it were a ship. It was very impressing to see it for real, even if only from outside. Maybe next time we will be inside it, boating. Who knows?
