Aguascalientes, already subject of a post here, is well-known in Mexico for hosting the largest folk and cultural event in the country, the San Marcos Fair (Feria de San Marcos). During three weeks between April and May, the city goes through a makeover to welcome over 7 million visitors, in existing or specially-built places for the event which has been taking place for more than 180 years. There is everything in the programme: animals’ fair, amusement park, parade with carnival float, performances and parties all night long. However, according to local residents, a perfect day at Feria de San Marcos would be watching the bullfight, going for a walk on the streets near Plaza de Toros, eating at a restaurant and eventually going to a dance club. Phew! Long live Aguascalientes!Take Note
