In northern El Calafate you find Laguna Nimez; the city on one side and Lago Argentino on the other. What you can do fun here is take pictures, ride a bike, go horseback riding and go for a walk. You can go around the lagoon and along the lake.
Morro de São Paulo is among the most beautiful islands I have ever been to. There are coral reefs with colorful fish, palm trees, white sand, warm water and trails. What most caught my attention was the sudden change of the tides. It happens several times a day, changing the view.
A simple but charming place, with very rich biodiversity. The paths beneath your feet seem to have been built by landscape gardeners, and it is all done by the wind, water and fire. Millions of years ago it used to be an ocean, but today is the headwaters of many Brazilian rivers, especially in Amazonia.
I went trekking in CERRO COCODRILO in POTRERILLOS and ACONCAGUA PARK. Up there you can see some eagles and let your mind wonder, while you admire the view. I also went “radical” rafting in the Mendoza river(almost had my teeth broken with the paddle during a violent wave), but it was amazing to face those waters and the view in The Andes. The river is brown because of the desert and has a lot of rocks that you do not see, you only feel them scratching the bottom of the boat.
About 25 km, 5 different trails in 3 days in Urubici. If we had more time we would have done more, the city has 82 waterfalls and is investing on tourism. Lots of water, fresh air, plantations, hills, rocks, ups and downs. The group was great, fun people of different ages and professions sharing the passion for nature and hiking.
The argentinian side of Iguassu Falls is the coolest part of Iguaçu Waterfall, in Argentina. We took the train through the woods until the footbridges, leading us to GARGANTA DEL DIABLO, a hidden place with an impressive amount of water. I was scared of keeping on walking because it began to rain heavily, I pictured the river going up and reaching the footbridge, like some other times. I was soaking wet from the rain and the waterfalls.
We bought a tour package for Valle Del Colca, 150 km north of Arequipa. We spent 2 days with people from several nationalities. The goal was to visit the famous canyon, but everything else amazed me: the culture is so different from the rest of the country and the view is spectacular.
Salkantay Inca Trail – Diary of the trail to Machu Picchu on the mountain tops.
Inca trail is One of the most amazing things I have ever done. I overcame my limits and experienced what had never crossed my mind. I was in excellent shape, a little afraid of getting sick because of the sudden changes of temperature, but everything was fine. I thought I would lose weight but I burned all the calories from the Peruvian food – which I just loved. The cook who took part in the trail with us was a very imaginative chef.
