I was on a safari at Lewa Wildlife Conservancy when I saw this man walking alone on the savanna. The guide noticed our expressions of surprise and explained: – This is a rhino’s counter, everyday he walks through the park counting those animals. Then I asked if he was armed and the answer was: – Yes, he carries a knife and always walks on the roads because it’s safer. Ok! But some hours later I’ve seen a family of lions on the same road… Maybe I should have asked for how long each one lasts at this job and how much is the salary.
